Video Autoplay is Brutal
Stop embedding videos that play automatically and include lead-in ads that cannot be turned off. Truly infuriating.

Give users the option to use the old format. This new one sucks eggs. Or, prepare for a lot less traffic on the site.

The ads that pop up and take over half of the home page are infuriating.
When they pop up I close them but as soon as I return to the home page again, there it is again. There should be a way to turn them off!! They take up half the page!! If I can't find a solution I will find another home page to use.

clean up the comments sections. Racism and homophobic conduct has no place.
I have seen some truly vile and reprehensible conduct in the comments section of news stories that are disgusting even for someone like myself that is not easily offended. You need to moderate these comments sections to ensure that they do not become a platform for racists and homophobes. This is not the USA. We may have " freedom of speech" but that does not entitle one to spew hate on a public platform here in Canada. Shame on you yahoo for allowing this to go on this long. Stop censoring the word "beaver", the national animal of Canada, especially on the Yahoo! Canada site in comments on Canadian articles.
"Beaver" as it is most commonly used in Canada is not an obscenity. Good grief.

Don't have articles that are just videos.
I'd rather read full articles than listen to someone tell me about it. I also hate that videos are automatically opened. If you want videos, then interbreed them so that we can choose whether or not we want to watch them. I'm tired of opening articles, to find half a sentence/statement with a video I don't ever want to watch.

Please stop filtering the word h-i-t in the comments of Yahoo News.
If you're trying to filter another word that h-i-t appears in, then stop being so lazy and filter the whole word. H-i-t is not vulgar, it's not profanity, and seeing perfectly innocent words get mangled by the filter is really annoying.
