Yahoo Finance pages slow to load up
My Yahoo Finance pages are soooo slow to load up, it'll continually freeze when trying to switch between portfolios. I don;t have this problem with any other websites, I clean my cookies and history daily, and run anti-virus software weekly. It's in the web page programming. Too many ads to load up? I'm about ready to jump ship to another website for my stock portfolios. Yahoo has gotten worse.

This has not been resolved. Yahoo! Finance is wickedly slow to load over the last several days on different PCs and different internet connections.

With Opera browser I had to disable java script and use basic charts otherwise I had to wait 20-30 seconds for the interactive chart to load. Latest version of Opera, Flash, Shockwave & Java installed. Worked fine a month or so back.

Using Firefox on Comcast connection. Yahoo finance freezes and have to retry several times. gotten worse in last couple of weeks. Comcast advertises they are upgrading to 200 Mbps this summer. Could it be that the upgrading is slowing things down????

Alex Janssen's suggestion that blocking scripts will speed up the pages is also completely wrong. NoScript does much more harm than good.

Cookies and history don't make your browser slow anyway. It has nothing to do with ads either because I have them blocked. Yahoo's servers and software are just garbage, and these problems have been around for many years.

If my pages were slow, I would consider it an improvement. Currently they load at a glacial pace. I now use a different homepage as a result and will switch to another supplier for finance when I find one suitable.

Install NoScript for Firefox. You can control which scripts run. This will greatly speed up page display and interactivity.

Mine is doing exactly the same thing. Gateway laptop running Vista, using Firefox. Problem seems to be the annoying pop-ups hijack the system and quit loading in mid-stride. Readspeedpointroll.com seems to be the worst pop-up offender. May have something to do with Flash se7 u 10 in combination with Firefox and Yahoo. I love Yahoo Finance, but will be forced to go to another site unless the problem is resolved. BTW, I'm meticulous about viruses. Come-on Yahoo, fix this bug! Thanks
