Why has your Oil price figure been frozen for nearly a week as it fluctuates in reality?

right now the price is showing $93.xx while the rest of the world is still at $88..maybe it's just wishful thinking...

The oil price is always quoted for the front or prompt month - crude oil on the nymex trades in monthly contracts that generally expire on the 3rd business day prior to the 25th day of the month. This month the contract has already expired so Yahoo is displaying a price that doesn't exist for a commodity that doesn't exist (december '12 crude oil). Yahoo needs to automatically roll the display to the new current month (January '13 in this case) to avoid confusion
