Hi, please let us know how we can improve further.

MMA page has become bad.

Please hire Jim Genia to either supplement or replace Maggie Hendricks. At one time, Cagewriter had mediocre content and a good comments section. Maggie's presence drove away the good comments. It was probably not 100% her fault, as there's a strong misogynist presence in the MMA comments. But she is a writer who gives the impression that she doesn't know about or care about MMA, which is a large part of it too. I really believe Maggie has destroyed the decent comments to the Cagewriter blogs. Since the content itself was not notable, the comments were the reason to read. I used to check into the MMA blog all the time. Now, there are days I don't read, and my disinterest will only grow. You (yahoo) seem not to care much about MMA, but unless Jim Genia is asking for far more money than Maggie, you can cheaply revitalize a dying part of your sports coverage. Just my 2 cents.

She is horrible at both, please replace her with someone, anyone with decent knowledge of what they are writing about.

I fully support the removal of Hendricks. Her biased and unwarranted opinions attempt to turn columns about MMA into forums for the promotion of her personal opinions regarding the place of homesexuals in society. Her opinion on the Fallon Fox issue is not only poorly articulated, biased and altogether inapproprate considering the lack of medical research and controversy surrounding the issue, but is also clearly marked with the very same bias and "hatred" that she accuses Mitrione himself of demonstrating. Remove her at once, as readers of her articles are almost unanimous in their dislike for her contributions.

I agree - Yahoo please do us all a HUGE favor and let Maggie Hendricks do some sort of TMZ blog (which i'll never read) - she has no place in an MMA / sports section and has the writing skills of a 5th grader

Maggie's blog is a disaster. It's the herpes sore of Yahoo.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HIRE RICH! YAHOO IS MISSING AN EDITOR!

Seriously though, fire your sports editor. EVERY sports "blog" I read is filled with inaccuracies, spelling mistakes, and grammar mistakes.

        Hire Rich.

Please get a REAL writer and a competent editor. Every Yahoo! blog I read, there is at least 1 mistake that the comment section is calling out. I'm going to single out Maggie because her MMA stuff is just plain awful. Please get a real MMA person to give us news and insight about the sport, not somebody who will give us a half-@ssed article about a fighters wardrobe.

Yahoo doesnt care about its users. Or its integrity.

Spew more BS, yahoo. You're doing great.

I LOSE WHAT LITTLE RESPECT I HAVE FOR YAHOO EVERYTIME I READ A MAGGIE HENDRICKS BLOG!!! What a joke.....

To prove how bad the MMA section is, turn off comments for a week... see if people still click on articles.
Comments section>>>>>>>>>>>>>>ANY MMA article posted on Yahoo

And.... Yahoo is "GATHERING FEEDBACK" since Nov 5, 2012. Can you imagine what would happen if Ariel Helwani, Mike Chiappetta, or Luke Thomas was posting the things that we find here on Yahoo? They would be publicly ridiculed by the fans AND the fighters. Maggie just posted an update about WSOF 2 today (Monday) and the event was on Saturday night. Not only do we get late postings about events- the top story on the UFC/MMA page is about GSP's clothes and how they're offensive. She got the whole thing from Bloodyelbow! There are plenty of people out there (plenty of women if that's what you're so desperate to have) that have bjj brown or black belts, love the sport, practiced martial arts at a high level (not karate as a 3rd grader) and would do a spectacular job writing for Cage Writer. MMAFIGHTING.com has a large list of great writers! Where are the breakdowns? Where is the analysis of upcoming fights? There is so much happening in this sport and barely any of it is covered by Maggie. Especially not when it actually happens. I mean, c'mon. All of us can copy and paste.. and read mmafighting.com. I might add that Dave Doyle's work is fantastic in comparison to what we're used to. He has been providing great content and actually seems like he's a fan of the sport. Weird for Yahoo, I know.

        FIX IT!

Some jobs are more about the customer and in those jobs the customers always right. When a customer complains about an employee the employer will almost immediately get rid of the employee. In jobs like with yahoo, I believe its all about connections and who you know. Maggie obviously isn't qualified to write for the MMA portion of yahoo sports but I think because she is well connected she will stay on until they can find a place to send her. Why else would they allow her to stick around? I mean they care about the readers right? They actually listen to their complaints don't they? And yet Maggie is sticking around and writing with the same poor quality of work if not worse. I used to have an account with yahoo but with all the racist comments, mysteriously disappearing comments and underachieving writers like Maggie and Jeff Passan, I canceled my account. I'll find another website that actually cares about the people they cater towards. I also seriously question the credentials of Maggie and Jeff Passan (I just don't like him)

Articles about walkout shirts? Please get rid of Maggie she has no respect from the MMA readers to keep insulting us with these ****** stories.

Hire me, Yahoo. I can do a much better job than Maggie, I'm sure. AND, I PROMISE to spell/grammar check ever entry I make. Give me a chance!

The "news" reported there is usually 2 to 3 days old. There are mistakes in nearly every article (blog). Today she made the mistake of calling MMA fighter Bubba McDaniel by the name of Bubba Watson, the golfer. I assume she gets paid to write for Yahoo, I would expect less mistakes and better content.

      • Y2J8Y2J8 commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

Her "articles" are so terrible. There are mistakes in about 75% of them (factual and grammatical) as well as her FB posts that include said articles. She always has lame excuses for them as well when she is called out. How hard is it to read over something before posting it? And lately she has just been re-posting stuff that is days old from other MMA sites. Just terrible.

I think that they should know by now that many people want her off the MMA blog. It's amazing that they haven't done anything about this issue. Maggie Hendricks makes the MMA page the worst to read. It makes me want to go to another site.

      • WillWill commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

Same with me. Maggie Hendricks is the worst writer at Yahoo. Her MMA blogs are the worst to read. Nobody wants to read them. I should know this because I've seen a lot of complaints about Maggie Hendrick's writing. This is something that Yahoo should not ignore. They should see that a lot of people do not like her blogs. At least take her off the MMA blogs. It's obvious that no one wants to read her MMA blogs.
