After 65 years of following hockey last nights debut was sensational. Two things that standout was that the Duck's defense was not jelling yet and that goalie was amazing under these conditions. Secondly in the overtime did you notice the little area that the goalie offered the Pred's only to close it effectively when an opposition player tried to utilize this. He has fast feet, fast eyes and is fully focussed. This goalie situation could be the most important point this season. Let them earn their No. 1 position you'll see two great goalies and don't fall asleep resigning him to at least a 5 year contract.

Next to the goalie situation the defense needs alot of work especially in handling the puck and making good passing to start end to end offenses. This team could be a good playoff contender if this defense can handle there duties and clear the rebounds for the goalie and leave him a clear path to follow the puck.
