I am no longer using Yahoo because this script issue is ridiculous and annoying. Good-bye Yahoo.

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. I am constantly getting this message and it locks my computer sometimes for about 10 mins.

Ad Choice is running scripts that prevent navigation.

I have the same problem on my Mac and this is the only site I have the problem. Asks me whether I'd like to stop or continue running the script after freezing my computer for about 20 sec.

I have Firefox 19.0 and it happens to me. Whoever says it is limited to Firefox 3.6 is wrong.
The problem is caused by a Raisin Bran ad with a greedy script that tries to keep the user from leaving the page.

This issue seems to be isolated to Firefox 3.6 which is less than 1% of the market. This is a vocal minority. Upgrade your browsers.

This happens every time I switch to a different news page:
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. It locks up the browser for almost a minute.
I reported it about a month ago but it looks like this is an old problem Yahoo has not been able to address.

It has been three months and still no solution. Easy fix; undo what you did Yahoo and return to the former version; this version is alienating your loyal followers.

LOOKS LIKE YAHOO CANNOT SOLVE THIS ISSUE AS IT HAS PLAGUED US NOW FOR OVER A MONTH,EITHER THAT OR YAHOO JUST DOESN'T CARE. I'VE SWITCHED MY HOME PAGE NOW TO MSN . . YOU SHOULD TOO.

I think these are ad agencies, and they use up time because they have oversold their service, causing sites to have to wait for the ads.
Please rewrite the sites so navigation cuts off the ad downloads,.

I posted the January 11, 2013 12:20 p.m. comment. I was using an older PowerPC Mac laptop. It died later that day (coincidence??) of what seems to be a corrupted hard drive. Now running Firefox 18 on a PC the news articles work fine.

BINGO. Same thing here. ***** you Yahoo and your useless support system. There are dozens of problems on your **** website and they are all "Under Review" from some lacky that shows up as "Admin, Yahoo!" but surely isn't an admin or anyone at all who gives a ****.
Is there ANY problem/suggestion that Yahoo has responded with beyond a initial robo-post of "Under Review." No - it's because Yahoo doesn't care one bit. Nice marketshare Yahoo - I'm going to enjoy watching Google kick your useless *** over the next few years. You could at least attempt to provide some resemblence of caring what your PREVIOUS CUSTOMERS are trying to tell you.

- Type 'about:config ' on your browser address box.
- select 'dom.max_script_run_time' then double click
- on it and cahange the integer value to 20Thanks for the suggestion but I just tried that, made the change, restarted my browser and the exact same thing.

Here's a better idea. Someone over at Yahoo get off their *** and fix their crummy website. Back in December this was "Under Review" but the useless Admin has then since vanished into an abyss never to be seen again.
Want an example of the **** customer service Yahoo has. They put up this "Suggestions" page to give the appearance that they care. But look at every problem that's been posted - they're all "Under Review" never to be heard from again. What's basically going on is that Yahoo pays some lacky over in Pakistan a few dollars each week to mark every post as "Under Review" so it looks like they give a shite but nobody actually bothers fixing these problems or taking the suggestions under serious consideration.

I am now looking for a new home page featuring news articles as Yahoo does not seem to care about fixing this problem or even responding to its users. Any suggestions as to a good alternative to the Yahoo home page? I rely on the web for news and Yahoo has just taken itself out of the game. Any suggestions of alternative home pages that are customizable and news rich will be greatly appreciated. I will check back here in a day or two. Thanks!! LOU

Happens to me too on EVERY news article.
I have: Firefox 3.6.28, Mac OS X 10.4.11.
Yahoo sites and their service is awful in so many ways !! (Note that they have NOT replied to this user's issue, posted in Dec 2012)
Unfortunately, my email account is with AT&T, but ATT (unfortunately) partnered with Yahoo to let ATT email services run on Yahoo servers. Result: EVERYTIME I have a problem, they each point the finger at the other, so the problem stays UNresolved!! AWFUL !!
If it's not one thing, it's another. Yahoo CLEAN UP your act and DO your job FOR ONCE !!

I continue to have this issue over the past several weeks using Ubuntu 10.04 and Seamonkey 2.0.11.
I gather the solution for the time being is to avoid all Yahoo sites?
