We're sorry... We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again after a few minutes.
MAJOR ISSUES with Yahoo ability to play back videos.
Video Error!
Increased to more than 95% of the videos we tried to watch on yahoo over the last 3 weeks. Was at 0% and jumped up fast. We are on a land line. Plays the commercials just fine and than the video receives the below ERROR.
"We're sorry...
We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again after a few minutes."
Needs fixing or you will use your visitor base... We are questioning if we should use Yahoo anymore for news or anything.
Please help us stay with Yahoo.
Hi,
I’m sorry to hear you are having problems with the site. Could you describe the issue in a little more detail? Which browser / OS are you using?
Best Regards,
Yahoo! Product Support

Generic response to a long, ongoing problem with yahoo video playback. Of course, the commercials play just fine....Very annoying...

It always happens for me too. I've NEVER been able to watch a video on Yahoo news - not once. However the commercials preceeding the videos play just fine!
My browser is Chrome -

Same problem using the latest version of Safari on iPad... Used to work fine on everything, now I'm able to view less & less each day.. Cannot run flash player so really hoping yahoo makes accommodations for Safari iPad users!

I also get the same problem running Mac OS X 10.6.8 and my housemate gets the same problem on the most recent Mac OS X, both on Macbook Pros. Problem occurs in Safari, Firefox, and Chrome.... Totally useless. Ads play fine, no video.

Funny that the commercials that precede the videos works fine -- then I get this error message "We're sorry... We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again after a few minutes." Have to reload the page, only to watch the commercial again before the video plays. Sometimes I have to watch the commercial three times before the video plays. This problem happens in IE, Firefox and Chrome on my Windows Vista laptop, my Windows 7 desktop. This is not a Flash problem as I have no issues on other sites with Flash videos. This is definitely a Yahoo problem. Created new email account at hotmail.com and moving on. Also hate the changes to Yahoo Mail.

I am using Windows 7 Can someone tell me how I can, as mike recommended, open "up the firewall to allow SRC=any DST=98.136.0.0/14(yahoo) DPORT=1935 (macromedia-fcs RTMP)"?
I looked at Windows Firewall, but I don't see anyplace where I can enter SRC, DST, or DPORT data.
Thanks.

This is most likely not a problem with yahoo, IE, Firefox, or Chrome. I troubleshot this problem extensively a few months ago and found the fix was to uninstall the most recent version of flash and reinstall an older version. The clue is if you have recently had an auto update to the newest version of flash. This is the reason Steve Jobs wouldn't put flash on Apple products.

This is problem with Yahoo video sites only.
We r having the latest flash player installed.
Still this problem.
It is also with browsers like IE, Firefox, Chrome. Most cause can be the proxy settings.
It fails behind proxy with authentication.I also suggest Yahoo to make their videos playing using flash player like other sites do.
Thank you. -
