Notification Error
I keep getting a notification on a comment from last month when nothing new has happened. It seems to block current commentary notices or always loop back to this one notice after checking one which is more current. It is maddening.

Yahoo! Mail and comment notifications have completely failed for me on any browser on every OS. Your engineering team has had 9 business days to work on this issue. Either get competent engineers, or just admit that you borked it up on your end and don't know how to fix it and that we as your customers can just forget about it. For being ranked #8 of the top 20 places to work for, you don't have skilled employees yahoo. This is why google is squashing you like a bug in every facet of the online world.

I havren't had any notifications in a week. Usually I get at least a dozen. I have noticed that the
notifications have been acting rather oddly in the first part of December. -

I'm getting the same thing. IE9 (up to date) and/or Chrome Version 23.0.1271.64 m (depending on computer or which browser is default on which computer)
I've got a comment on "Congratulations! You've received 1 thumbs-up to your post on Rubio makes first postelection trip to Iowa in Yahoo! News."
The notification will not go away. If I click "View More" when that's the only notification, it just keeps adding more iterations of that notification. When there are other notifications, I can view and clear them, until I'm back to Rubio. I'm tired of Rubio.
Thanks. -

come on, I leave a comment on a post, then the comment shows up under a completely different original post, in some cases from 7 hours earlier!

what is this, my comment to a post, shows up under something entirely different:
example, my comment - 'exactly, good point M.A.D. lives on, now for over 50 years' shows up under this - 'Why didn't Mitt's son's serve in the Military?' from 4 hours earlier, where is the original post I commented to?

Still happening.
I now have 4 Notifications that pop up but yet there has been no activity on the thread of comments or even a thumbs up or down on my post.If I click on one of the notification items I go to the comment I left. I scroll back up and click on the Notification button again and the same notification along with the other 3 are still there. I have tried clicking on one of the other notifications at random but it is hit and miss the next time I click on the notifications button on whether the offending notifications come up or the valid, more recent list come up as it should. If the proper notifications do pop up, the next notifications I receive may be the old inactive comment list. Some times I get a run of the recent list and I just hope it is all over with as trying to get rid of the offending list takes a lot of time.
Cheers!

Same problem here. Started up a couple days ago.
I constantly get notified of the same two updates-- and the timestamp on them keeps changing to a more recent time. Only occasionally do the real notifications get to me. I'm running MacOS10.6, and see the behavior in all four browsers I've tried: latest versions of Firefox, Chrome, Opera and Safari.
This is very disruptive to the back & forth typical of commenting on articles. Just let me turn off this "feature" (ie, bug) if it's not going to get fixed. Actually, just give me an option to turn off notifications, period. The feature adds nothing that I can't do myself.
