What has happened to the new Yahoo News format. We used to have lots of news in about 10 different categories after the headlines. Now 4!
We used to have lots of news in about 10 different categories after the headlines. Now we only have 4 and they mingle in "opinion" as fact. The old format was far superior and was better than competitors, but the new one is far worse than competitors. So long!
Dear Yahoo! News readers,
We have made further improvement to the Yahoo! News home page http://news.yahoo.com based on your feedback. We have added tabs listing Associated Press and Reuters news and also added more news sections. Thank you again for all your input. Please continue letting us know how we can do better.
Best Regards,
Yahoo! Product Support

when I click on news item, a new page is brought up with many other news items but not the one I clicked on. Is there something broken here? I won't be hanging around if it stays like this. The old way was much better and worked.

Ok, as of 9/17/12, the "US" and "World" sections have been restored, but it's still missing the other sections like Health, Business, Sports, & Politics.
Like everyone else has requested, please just bring back the original layout.
Thanks!

yes please back the additional sections. While they can be seen on the homepage -- you can not hover over the article title on the homepage to see the article intro/summary. And I also agree with other commenters that having the business, us, entertainment, sports, and technology sections available on the Yahoo! NEWS page was far superior. Also I notice the ap and reuters feeds are not available. I hope that the current experiment will be dropped soon.

I completely agree. Even though I usually go for the technology & science sections I still try to stay informed of news in other areas. There used to be other sections such as Health, Business, US, World, Sports, Politics, now they have been replaced with "The Sideshow" & "The Ticket" (whatever that means). Please restore these sections!
I always liked Yahoo's generation for news because it didn't rely too heavily on "active"/"Web 2.0" Javascript nonsense and even provided brief summaries of articles in tooltips when one hovered an article link (at least in the bottom sections, it'd be nice if you did that for the headline links in the top too).

I totally agree with this comment. The new layout is much too narrow in scope. Please bring back the previous format ASAP!
